The course
The Straits Course runs along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline north of Sheboygan, with eight holes beside the water. Pete Dye built it on flat land that was once a military training base, adding dunes, deep pot bunkers and three stone bridges. It opened in 1998 and has hosted the PGA Championship three times and the Ryder Cup in 2021. The inland Irish Course sits beside it, and a flock of Scottish Blackface sheep roams the grounds.
