The circuit
The Autodromo Nazionale Monza is a permanent circuit in the park of the Royal Villa of Monza, north of Milan, opened in 1922. The clockwise lap is mostly straights and chicanes. From the 1.1 km start straight it brakes for the Variante del Rettifilo, then runs through Curva Grande, the Variante della Roggia and the two Lesmo corners. It passes under a bridge before the last chicane, and the Parabolica leads back to the start straight. The banking of the old oval still stands beside the lap.
