The course
Bandon Dunes was the first course at the resort, opened in 1999 on headlands above the Pacific just north of the town of Bandon. Scottish architect David McLay Kidd routed it through sand dunes covered in gorse and Scotch broom, with coastal pines, and it visits the cliffs at regular intervals. The 4th and 16th, its best-known holes, play to greens framed by the ocean, and the 16th is a par 4 short enough to drive. Pacific Dunes lies just to the north.
