The course
Oak Hill began in 1901 beside the Genesee River in Rochester. After a land swap with the University of Rochester, the club moved in 1926 to 355 acres in Pittsford, where Donald Ross laid out the East and West courses. Dr. John R. Williams raised oaks from acorns gathered worldwide and planted tens of thousands on old farmland. Allens Creek crosses five fairways on the East, which has hosted three U.S. Opens, four PGA Championships and the 1995 Ryder Cup. The West Course lies beside it.
