The campus
The Oval, the historic center of campus, covers about 11 acres. Thompson Library stands at its west end and University Hall at its northwest corner, and the east end opens onto High Street. Mirror Lake, once fed by a spring, lies in a hollow just south. On the west side, Ohio Stadium, horseshoe-shaped and opened in 1922, stands on the floodplain of the Olentangy River, which runs just past its west wall.
