The campus
Old Main, first built in 1863 and rebuilt in 1930, faces College Avenue across a wide lawn where the college's teams played until 1893. Just west, the Mall runs under a row of elms from College Avenue to Pattee Library. The H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens sit to the northwest. Beaver Stadium fills the northeast corner beside the Bryce Jordan Center. It opened in 1960, after the stands of the old field were taken apart and moved half a mile east.
