The course
The Honolulu Marathon starts on Ala Moana Boulevard by Ala Moana Beach Park and finishes in Kapiolani Park. The first miles loop through downtown past Aloha Tower and Iolani Palace, then the route runs down Kalakaua Avenue through Waikiki and around Diamond Head. It follows Kalanianaole Highway east to Hawaii Kai, turns back at Maunalua Bay, and returns along Kahala Avenue and Diamond Head Road to the finish.
