The course
The New York City Marathon runs point to point through all five boroughs. It starts at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island and crosses the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge into Brooklyn, then runs up Fourth Avenue and on through Williamsburg and Greenpoint. The Pulaski Bridge marks halfway and leads into Queens. The Queensboro Bridge brings runners to First Avenue in Manhattan. After about a mile in the Bronx, the route comes down Fifth Avenue and through Central Park to the finish.
