The course
The Brabazon was built on a former potato field and opened in 1977. Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas designed it, and it is named for Lord Brabazon, a former president of the British PGA. The 10th is a par 4 of about 300 yards, short enough to drive, with water along the right. At the 18th the approach crosses a lake to a three-tier green. The course has hosted the Ryder Cup four times, more than any other venue. The PGA National and Derby courses lie beside it.
