The course
The Chicago Marathon is a loop that starts and finishes in Grant Park and runs through 29 neighborhoods. The route goes north through River North and Lincoln Park to Lakeview, comes back downtown and heads west through Greektown toward the United Center. The south leg passes Pilsen and Chinatown, then turns north through Bronzeville and the South Loop. The last stretch turns onto Roosevelt Road and up Columbus Drive to the finish. The course is flat.
